What are 03 numbers?
Ofcom introduced UK-wide 03 numbers as an alternative to chargeable 08 numbers, such as 0845 & 0870.

These new numbers allow organisations to have a single national point of contact without consumers having to pay extra to call them. Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.

These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphones. Revenue sharing – where the dialled party can receive a share of what the consumer pays to make a call – is also not allowed on calls to 03 numbers.

Virtual Numbers

Here are a few reasons why our clients use cloud based Virtual numbers.

1. A PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS LINE FOR YOUR MOBILE

Small businesses using only a mobile number as point of contact run the risk of potential customers not calling them.

2.ROUTE CALLS TO VIRTUALLY ANY LOCATION

Businesses wanting to create a presence in a specific area can use a local geographic 01, 02 number which can route anywhere including landlines, mobiles, international locations PC softphones or iOs & Android softphone APPS  (beats roaming charges)

3. AUTOMATED TIME OF DAY ROUTING

Time of day routes can be automated so no more having to manually activate call diverts and switch on/off the out of hours voicemail.

4. SCREEN YOUR CALLS

Features such as Call screening/call whisper can easily be activated so you know which number was called and can answer appropriately.

5. CALL STATISTICS

Call reporting enables you to track the effectiveness of your advertising spend, marketing campaigns and web sites by using separate numbers to your normal business number.

6. PRESENT A VIRTUAL NUMBER RATHER THAN A MOBILE NUMBER

Using an iOS/Android VoIP APP user can make outbound calls* from their mobile device therefore using the virtual number as their caller ID.

Be Careful What Type Of  NUMBER YOU USE

If your customers mainly call you from mobile phones they will be paying equivalent of a premium rate number if you use 0843/0844 numbers. For example calls to 0843/0844 numbers from a Vodafone mobile can cost as much as 55ppm due to the mobile networks access charge being added to the 0843/0833 ppm rates, whereas an 01,02,03 number will be charged at standard geographic rates and will be included in the callers minutes allowance.

Inclusive packages start from £9.00/mth. To find out more call our team on 0800 107 9444
